Priorities of European integration program
A meeting of political directors of the EU member states and Moldova will take place in Prague on May 12 after the EU summit that will be held in the same city on May 7 to launch the Eastern Partnership initiative. The meeting of the joint Moldova-EU subcommittee on visas will take place in Chisinau on May 13.
The May-June events included in the Moldova-EU working program were presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan at the last meeting of the National Commission for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The next meeting that will be held in Chisinau in May will center on the cooperation under the EU-Moldova mobility partnership.
The Moldova-EU Cooperation Council will hold a meeting in Luxemburg on June 16. Moldova’s President will also attend. Moldova hopes the meeting will discuss the opening of talks over a new political document with the EU. Andrei Stratan stressed the necessity of fully making use of these opportunities in order to make progress on the path to European integration.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that they prepared a detailed report that includes Moldova’s proposals regarding the organization of the process of formulating the national positions on different issues, the list of the Moldovan officials that will be involved in the talks on the new agreement with the EU, their responsibilities and the immediate steps that will be taken to prepare for the talks.
Andrei Stratan also said that 110 local experts in different fields were trained with the support of a number of EU member states. They will participate in the negotiation process together with the national delegation.
