Five political parties would enter Parliament after the November 30 elections: the PCRM with 19.6% of the vote, the PLDM with 17.2%, the PDM with 14.2%, the Party “Patria” with 8.7%, and the PL with 8.5%. The PSRM is close to the election threshold with 5.3%, while the number of undecided voters fell slightly to 9.6%, shows an IMAS poll commissioned by IPN News Agency. The figures refer to the voting intentions of those who are determined to take part in the elections, who represent 66% of all the respondents.

The number of respondents determined to vote for the PCRM fell by 3.8% compared with the September poll, for the PLDM by 1.4%, while for the PPP by 0.9%. The number of those who intend to vote for the PDM rose by 3.5%, for the PL by 2.2%, while for the PSRM by 2.5%.

“From my viewpoint, compared with the situation five years ago, when the Communist Party was very visible and present, this party now has a different campaign and this makes it lose supporters. During the political crisis they had a percentage of 39%, while now are at 19%, after one year and a half. The percentage lost by the PCRM went to the alternative parties – the Party “Patria” and the Party of Socialists,” IMAS director Doru Petrutsi said in a news conference at IPN.

“The other parties, of the Liberal-Democrats, the Democrats and the Liberals, surely had to first of all provide explanations for the own performance, but the resources and recipes in the campaign are very different. I refer to different media support, resources allocated in different amounts, the different capacities of the party networks.”

As to the confidence in the political leaders, the most trusted politicians are Iurie Leanca (40%) and Dorin Chirtoaca (38%). They are followed by Marian Lupu (33%), Igor Corman (31%), Vlad Filat (28%), Vladimir Voronin (28%), Renato Usatyi (27%) and Mihai Ghimpu (20%).

According to the poll, 60% of the respondents said they already decided who to vote for, while 8% do not rule out the possibility that they will take a decision on the election day. As to the political orientation of the respondents, 29% said they support the political right, 23% - the center, 19% - the left, while 22% do not know or didn’t provide an answer.

The poll was carried out between November 8 and 19 and covered a sample of 1,128 people older than 18 from 81 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
