Prime Minister Pavel Filip on March 17 met with Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ionita in connection with his March 23 working visit to Romania’s Piatra Neamt, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
In the discussions with the Romanian diplomat, Pavel Filip underlined the very good bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania and the constant support provided by the neighboring state. “Romania lent us a hand at the moment when the Republic Moldova had the biggest need. Owing to the financial assistance and its efficient use, we managed to unlock the external financing and to overcome the crisis experienced by our country in 2015,” stated the Premier.
Pavel Filip also informed Daniel Ionita about the Government’s reform agenda and the cooperation areas between the two states in this regard. He noted that Chisinau has all the openness and determination needed to act so that the country’s European course becomes irreversible.
The Romanian ambassador reasserted Romania’s readiness to support Moldova on its path of European integration. “Moldova is a strategic priority in Romania’s foreign policy and we are ready to help you achieve the country’s European integration objective,” stated Daniel Ionita.
