During a meeting with the ambassadors accredited in Chisinau, held on Thursday, November 7, Prime Minister Maia Sandu has reiterated that her basic objective is to ensure that the next Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova is independent and honest. The meeting with the 38 ambassadors of different countries accredited to Moldova took place in the context of the latest developments related to justice reform.
According to a press release from the Government, quoted by IPN, the prime minister has given assurances that justice reform continues to be number one priority of the executive and that without unblocking the situation in this area, no progress will be registered in the other areas of the country’s development, including economic or social.
Maia Sandu mentioned on a TV show yesterday that the ambassadors accredited to Chisinau, with whom she met, supported the justice reform and believed in the genuine intention of this Government to promote the reform.
On Thursday, November 7, at a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the Republic of Moldova, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has also conveyed the message that "the presidential institution continues to support the Government and the parliamentary majority, provided that the actions of some political forces and persons do not to exceed the limits of constitutional norms ”. Igor Dodon met separately with the head of the EU Delegation, Peter Michalko, with the US ambassador, Dereck J. Hogan, and with the ambassador of the Russian Federation, Oleg Vasnetsov.
