Prime Minister Ion Chicu will pay a visit this week to the Russian Federation. According to the prime minister, the visit to Moscow has long been overdue. The statement was made during a press conference on Monday, November 18.
"For reasons that are incomprehensible to me, a visit to Moscow did not happen yet, although the economic relations with the Russian Federation are very important to the Republic of Moldova and there's a large number of critical issues on the bilateral relations agenda. For example, the issue of carriers needs to be addressed. The export of agri-food products is literally blocked. Another issue on the agenda is the gas supply to Moldova", said the prime minister.
Ion Chicu said that he will attend the Eastern Partnership Investment Summit, which will take place in London on November 22. "I intend to engage in talks, including with other prime ministers from neighboring countries, in order to strengthen relations. Of course, I will discuss with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development about increasing financing for infrastructure projects, etc.", the prime minister said.
