Prime Minister Pavel Filip encouraged vine growers to increase the production of grapes for export and to adopt the latest technologies that boost production efficiency. The official attended the National Grape Festival, organized for the 4th year in a row in Cimislia, IPN reports.
The event gathered vine growers from 18 districts, who came to present their harvest. Pavel Filip reassured them of the government’s support for opening competitive businesses in the field. “The grape is the basis of our country brand and the vine and wine sector is an important branch of our economy”, said the official.
The Prime Minister talked to the farmers about the conditions and capacities for growing vine, and about the technologies employed in producing and storing grapes.
The Grape Festival is meant to promote the production and consumption of grapes, to facilitate new commercial relations among farmers and with foreign partners.
This year, in September, a festival of the Moldovan grape will be organized for the first time in Warsaw, Poland.
