Priest involved in hit-and-run
Chisinau Road Police said a priest hit three teenagers while driving his car on red light and sped away from the scene.
Road Police Inspector Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that the accident took place on Constantin Stere Street, in front of Prometeu high school. Three students were crossing the street on green light when they were hit by a Dacia-Nova, driven on red. Fortunately, the children did not suffer any traumas and didn’t need medical assistance. However, without knowing the results of the collision, the driver didn’t slow down and drove on. Several hours later the driver and his car were identified.
According to the police, the same person caused another accident, hitting a pedestrian in August 2006. If the court finds him guilty, the driver could be fined 30 to 40 minimum salaries or deprived of the driver’s licence for 3 years.
