Prices rose 7.8% over a year
Since the start of last year, the consumer prices increased by 7.8%. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the consumer price index last December was 100.2% on last November and 107.8% on December 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The prices of vegetables in December rose by 3.8%, of grapes by 3.6%, of milk and dairy products by 0.5%. At the same time, the prices of sugar fell by 2.7%, potatoes by 1%, onion by 0.5%, while fresh fruit by 0.6% (citrus fruit by 5.3%).
The prices of most of the nonfood products and services in the period remained unchanged. The prices of clothes for children increased by 0.5%, winter footwear for children by 0.3%, while of public food services by 0.4%. The prices of air transport services fell by 5.2%, while of railway transport by 0.5%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the gross nominal average salary in November 2011 was 3,231 lei, up 9.8% on November 2010. The real salary rose by 0.8%.
