Prices of some fruit and vegetables go up at market

The prices of most of the fruit and vegetables sold at the market has increased compared with last week. Tomatoes cost 6 lei/kg and up, as opposed to 5 lei last week. Pink and yellow tomatoes can be bought for 15 lei/kg. Cucumbers cost 10 lei/kg, up 1 leu, while a kilogram of bell peppers and egg plans is sold for at least 10 lei, as against 8-9 lei/kg last week, IPN reports.

Capsicums cost 22 lei/kg, up from 18 lei, while vegetable marrows are sold for 10 lei/kg. Potatoe prices remained at the same level as last week - 6 lei per kilogram. Cabbage is also sold for 5 lei/kg, as earlier.

The greens increased in price. Last week, a bunch of parsley, dill and green onion tops cost mainly 4 lei, but now is sold for 5 lei and up. Throughout summer these greens could be bought for 2 lei a bunch.

Plums remained at the old price of 8 lei/kg. Watermelons and melons are sold for 2 lei and 4 lei, respectively. Cornelian cherries cost 18 lei/kg. A week ago, these could be bought for 15 lei per kg. Raspberry is sold for 50 lei/kg, while grapes for 10 lei, as during the last two weeks.

Strawberries can be now bought at the market for 40-65 lei/kg.
