The Ministry of Health made an order to regulate the prices of 402 medicines. The prices of 104 types of drugs were reduced, of 102 remained at the same level as last year, while of 171 were increased. Twenty-five drugs were registered for the first time.

Contacted by IPN, Maria Dragancea, spokeswoman for the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, said the prices in foreign currency in the mentioned order are by 7.6% lower than in 2015, while in national currency – by 1.71% higher. This is due to the depreciation of the Moldovan leu against foreign currencies.

Four of the most used 100 drugs can be found among the 402 types of medicines included in the order. Of these, one will have the same price as last year (Paracetamol – 5.20 lei), two will have a slightly higher price (Suprastin - from 47.05 lei to 48.58 lei, and Otilin – from 35.29 lei to 41.64 lei), while one will have an almost twice lower price (Salbutamol - 25.58 lei, down from 42.85 lei).
