Prices for several foodstuffs have increased in October

In October, the annual inflation for the last 12 months (from November 2018 to October 2019) constituted 6.8%, including foodstuffs - 10.7%, non-food items - 4.7%, services provided to the population - 3, 6%. At the same time, the consumer price index (CPI) in October, as compared to September, was of 100.9%, IPN reports.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the increase in average consumer prices by 0.9% was determined by the increase in prices for food products by 1.8%, for non-food items by 0.3% and the increase in the tariffs for rendering services to population by 0, 1%.

In October, as compared to September, there were increases in potato prices - by 17.3%, fresh vegetables - by 10.1%, pearl cereals - by 2.0%, butter - by 1.9%, chicken eggs - by 1.5% etc. At the same time, the prices for citrus fruits decreased - by 8.3%, fresh cabbage - by 3.7%, rabbit meat - by 0.7%.

As far as prices for non-food items are concerned, there were some increases in prices for garments - by 0.9%. At the same time, the prices of non-food items decreased: for liquefied gas in cylinders - by 3.9% and fuel - by 1.9%.

As for the services provided to the population in October, compared to September, there were registered price increases in: payments for driver courses - by 5.7%, tariffs for passenger air services - by 3.3%, taxi services - by 1.4%, health services - by 1.0%, public food industry - by 0.6%. Price decreases were recorded in the area of tourism services abroad - by 5.5% and passenger rail services - by 1.1%.
