The gasoline COR 95 on Wednesday will cost 23.92 lei/liter, down 0.10 lei on Tuesday. According to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, it is for the first time since February that the price of standard gasoline falls under 24 lei/liter. A liter of diesel fuel will be sold for 25.45 lei, down 0.36 lei, IPN reports.

Andrei Spînu said the decline in the price of gasoline is of almost 10 lei a liter since June. This means that a family can now save 500 lei when filling up the reservoir.

“The price of diesel fuel has also decreased. The tendencies on the international market persist and the price of diesel fuel will yet go down. As I said, as we are an importing country, the fuel prices in our country are dictated by the developments at international level. The changes we made to the legislation enabled us to have now a much lower price, which would reliably follow the international quotations. If we hadn’t made them, the people would have paid much more for fuel now,” stated the official.
