The price of softwood for fire this year varies between 570 and 590 lei, while hardwood will cost an average of 1,200 lei, Minister of Environment Sergiu Lazarencu told journalists after the Cabinet’s meeting, IPN reports.

Last year, the hard species of firewood were sold at prices that oscillated between 750 and 1,250 lei per stere, while the soft wood species for 370 – 750 lei for one stere.

According to the minister, the state now possesses 125,000 steres of wood, which is enough for the cold period of the year. However, the supplies are to be replenished for the fourth quarter.
