The price of gasoline COR 95 declined to 22.99 lei a liter after the National Agency for Energy Regulation decreased the price ceiling for gasoline by 0.24 lei for Wednesday. The price ceiling for diesel fuel was set at 23.22 lei a liter, down 0.13 lei on today, IPN reports.

According to the Agency, the Platts quotations for gasoline and diesel fuel remain low and influence the pump prices of the main oil products of standards type in Moldova too.

“Cumulatively, the fuel prices since June decreased by 10.91 lei per liter of gasoline COR 95 and by 9.24 lei per liter of standard diesel fuel, down about 32.18% and 28.46% respectively,” the institution noted in a press release.

In the recent period, the Platts quotations decreased significantly, to 700 $/tonne of gasoline and to 800 $/tonne of diesel fuel and pump prices for the two types of fuels this way fell under 23 lei/liter, to the values existing before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In June this year, fuel prices reached a record high of 33.90 lei per liter of gasoline COR 95 and of 32.46 lei per litter of standard gasoline.
