The Moldovan companies processing fruits and vegetables will purchase raw materials from farmers at higher prices. In this way, the cost of one kilogramme of apples will constitute MDL 1.9, almost twice against last year. This decision was made in order to ensure the canned food factories with raw materials in light of the low volume of global harvest of fruit and vegetables caused by drought. PM Vasile Tarlev told the meeting with the economic entities working in this field that he pleads for favouring the sale of vegetable and fruits to the local companies and importing only the finished production. Also, the participants discussed about the necessity of ensuring an efficient acquisition process of the desert grapes and of the hybrid sorts for the production of juices and canned food. Other problems tackled during the meeting were related to the optimisation of the production certification procedure, ensuring the local companies with high-quality packages, etc.
