Presidents of Bulgaria and Greece invited to Chisinau

While on a working visit to Istanbul, President Igor Dodon invited his Bulgarian and Greek counterparts to pay visits to the Republic of Moldova. With the President of Greece Prokopios Pavlopoulos, President Dodon discussed the current state of the Moldovan-Greek relations and the prospects of developing these in the future, especially in the economic sector. Prokopios Pavlopoulos said his country is ready to assist the Republic of Moldova in doing reforms, IPN has learned from the presidential press service.

The same day, Igor Dodon met with the Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova. The interlocutors conferred on the development of bilateral cooperation in the commercial-economic sphere and on the possible changes in the electoral system, taking into account the relevant experience of Bulgaria. The officials spoke about Taraclia district and the possibility of creating a branch of the State University of Bulgaria based on the University of Taraclia so as to contribute to keeping the institution and to ensuring the student’s access to Bulgarian and, in general, to European programs and scholarships.

President Dodon invited his Bulgarian counterpart Roumen Radev to make a visit to the Republic of Moldova in the nearest future. Iliana Iotova is expected to visit Chisinau at end-June.
