President’s election won’t put an end to differences in ruling Alliance

There won’t be peace in the Alliance for European Integration even if the President is elected on March 16. This view is shared by several opinion leaders who participated in the Special Edition talk-show on Publika TV, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sociologist Ion Jigau, director of CBS-AXA, said that peace in the Alliance was impossible because of the rough competition. He rules out a reformatting of the AIE. Journalist Ion Terguta, director of the interstate television company MIR’s office in Moldova, thinks that the Liberal Party is afraid of being ousted from the Alliance. “This is why PL tries to keep itself in the AIE by insisting on an agreement to be signed by the future President”, he said. Terguta stressed that the presidential candidate wouldn’t be nominated by a single party, but by all of them. “It’s time for a President of compromise. Most likely, a weak president”, said the journalist. Political analyst Vasile Croitoru foresees more crises in the AIE. “Even if the President is elected, the Liberals will feel on the losing side and this will cause trouble. Another problem is related to reforms. There will be competition. As long as there is no common and independent center to be obeyed by the members of the Alliance and their egos, there will be no stability and harmony”, thinks the analyst. Former Moldovan Prime Minister Dumitru Braghis is skeptical about the peace and understanding within the Alliance, thinking that its members will try to impose their different point of views on reforms. The AIE members so far haven’t reached consensus on the presidential candidate. Although the Alliance leaders deny it, they failed to tell a name and some political analysts think that the candidate to satisfy everyone has not been found yet.
