Fifteen lucky students will receive an augmented Presidential Scholarship this academic year. In particular, the merit scholarships will double, from 1,845 lei to 3,690 lei for university students, and will increase from 1,845 to 2,860 lei for vocational students, under a proposal submitted to public consultation by the Ministry of Education and Research.

The total budget required for a period of ten months, the duration of an academic year, is 512 thousand lei.

To qualify for the Presidential Scholarship, applicants need a minimum 9.0 average grade in the case of sciences, law, economics, engineering, and military students, and a 9.5 for humanities and other specialties.

Apart from the average grade, other achievements as well as letters of recommendation are also considered in awarding the scholarship.
