Presidential Residence in Condrița to host Forest Festival

The Presidential Residence in Condrița will host the Forest Festival on September 14. President Maia Sandu said that the event aims to celebrate unity and joint afforestation work, adding that the doors will be open to all forest lovers, IPN reports.

“During my visits to the villages and towns of Moldova, I met many people who would like us to have more forests. The national afforestation program, which I care about very much, has united people, regardless of ethnicity, visions and political preferences, to do something together for the common good,” noted the head of state.

Since the launch of the national afforestation program, almost 11,000 hectares have been planted with trees and regenerated with the effort of over 18,000 foresters and volunteers. The head of state said that many more actions are to be taken for the forestry sector and that more trees will be planted.

During the Forest Festival, movement on the Chisinau-Leușeni road will be restricted. In order to streamline traffic, public transport will be provided from the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau directly to the venue of the event.
