Presidential Office sends bill on pays for judges to Parliament
The Presidential Office has submitted a bill that provides for the gradual augmentation of judges’ salaries until 2015 to the legislative body. The judges will be paid monthly 3 to 5 national average salaries, depending on the category of the court and the length of service. They will also receive bonuses of 20% of the salary if they also hold administrative posts in the judicial system, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Presidential Office considers that the move will contribute to essentially improving justice, strengthening the judges’ independence, combating corruption and ensuring the rule of law, with the corrupt persons being removed from the judicial system.
