President Voronin to visit Brussels, Luxembourg

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin will travel to Brussels and Luxembourg, on June 18-19, to meet with a number of high-ranking European officials and to participate in the 9th session of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Council. According to the Presidential Press Service, the visit agenda will include a bilateral meeting with the NATO Secretary-General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, and the participation of the Moldovan president in the inauguration of the new headquarters of Moldovan Embassy in Belgium. In Brussels, Voronin will also sign several cooperation agreements between the Civil Aviation Authorityof Moldova and the Liege Airport. O June 19, in Luxembourg, the head of state will participate in the 9th session of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Council. During the session, Voronin will meet Benita Ferrero-Waldner, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Javier Solana, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German minister of Foreign Affairs. In Luxembourg, Voronin will meet the Grand Duke Henri of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as the prime-minister of the Duchy, Jean-Claude Juncker. On June 19, in the evening, President Voronin is expected to return home.
