President Voronin asks cabinet members to manifest more transparency and openness in relation with mass-media
The head of the Moldovan state pleads for bettering the mechanism of interaction of the central authorities with the mass-media and for supplying the public with the official information about the activity done. The statement was made a sitting convened by Vladimir Voronin attended by members of the cabinet and some representatives of mass-media, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique by the Presidency.
Vladimir Voronin spoke about the timeliness of the participation of the heads of the central administration in different radio and televised programs, news conferences, debates to widely mirror the work done and the objectives of the present government.
The President suggested that the cabinet members should regularly supply quickly the public with ample information about the situation in the country, speaking both about the achievements attained and the existing problems.
Vladimir Voronin urged the cabinet members to perceive the permanent cooperation with the representatives of the informing media as a very important and responsible component of their job duties.
“The constructive and fruitful dialog between the representatives of the power with the media represents an indispensable condition for the assertion of the democratic values in our country and for Moldova's advancement on the way of the European integration,” Vladimir Voronin concluded.
The communique does not specify the representatives of which media entities attended the sitting. The announcement of holding the sitting was not made public.
