President Voronin has exercised his right to vote on June 3 in the morning. The head of state told reporters that he voted for strengthening the local government, which is the foundation of our state. According to Voronin, “this foundation must be secure and strong and it has to contribute to the successful implementation of reforms all over the country, to ensure the continuous implementation of ongoing strategies and national programmes”. The head of state referred particularly to “The Moldovan Village” National Programme, the national programmes on the construction of natural gas and water supply networks. Answering to the questions of the journalists, Vladimir Voronin said that the future mayor of Chisinau should be competent, have the managerial abilities needed for administering Chisinau and to have a very affable and responsible attitude towards the residents of the municipality.
