President to have consultations with Communist parliamentary group

President Nicolae Timofti invited the parliamentary groups of the Party of Socialists and the Party of Communists to a new round of consultations to discuss the designation of a candidate for the post of Prime Minister. Contracted by IPN, secretary general of the President’s staff Ion Paduraru said the invitation was accepted only by the Communist. The meeting was scheduled to start at 11am on January 11.

Ion Paduraru noted that a new meeting with the other parliamentary groups, of the Lib-Dems, Democrats and Liberals, is to be arranged in concert with these. In the consultations held last week, it was agreed that January 12 is the deadline for holding new consultations.

On a social networking site, the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon wrote that the head of state issued a new invitation to the Socialists even if he realizes that it’s no use insisting that these vote for a new government. Holding early parliamentary elections is the only solution for freeing the country from captivity, while the investiture of a government, regardless of its composition, will mean maintaining of captivity.
