President to consult with PLDM, PDM, PL and unaffiliated lawmakers this evening

President Nicolae Timofti will have consultations with the parliamentary groups of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Democratic Party (PDM), the Liberal Party (PL) and the two groups of unaffiliated MPs – of the European People’s Party of Moldova and the Social-Democratic Platform - in the evening of January 11, starting at 5pm, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.

Also today, the head of state was to meet with the Socialist and Communist MPs to discuss the designation of a candidate for premiership. The first declined the invitation to consultations, while the latter didn’t show up at the meeting after initially accepting the invitation.

The future Premier must be voted in by January 29 or the head of state will have to dissolve Parliament and call early legislative elections.
