President Nicolae Timofti transmitted a congratulatory message to his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis on the occasion of the National Day of Romania. On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the creation of the modern Romanian state, Nicolae Timofti offers his sincere congratulations in the name of the people of the Republic of Moldova. “I will be honored if you transmit my homage to all the Romanian citizens,” said Nicolae Timofti, quoted by IPN.

The Head of State notes that the relations between Moldova and Romania during the last few days saw vertiginous development and advanced on a pragmatic path, in the spirit of the well-established privileged partnership. “The community of values, language and culture, cemented during millenniums, and the unconditional support for the country’s European course will definitely continue to represent a solid foundation for strengthening and diversifying the ties between the two states at multiple levels,” said Nicolae Timofti.

He expressed his profound gratitude for the valuable commitment that Romania and Klaus Iohannis undertook for implementing the internal reform agenda and for modernizing the public institutions in Moldova, through the agency of projects supported financially by the Romanian authorities.

Nicolae Timofti added he is firmly convinced that the Republic of Moldova will follow further the path of European democracy. Regardless of the complexity of challenges, the country will undoubtedly manage to develop the bilateral cooperation.
