President Nicolae Timofti will deliver a public lecture at the Moldovan Academy of Sciences as part of a festive event to celebrate the national holiday “Our Language” on August 31, IPN reports.

The Academy said in a press release the event will beging with a congratulatory speech from the Academy president Gheorghe Duca. It will be followed by Nicolae Timofti's public lecture, entitled “Romanian language, Politics and Rule of Law”.

Further, a ceremony will be held to hand the insignias of the Moldovan Academy honorary membership to Ionel-Valentin Vlad, the president of the Romanian Academy. The Moldovan Academy leadership will then go to lay flowers at the Alley of Classics in the central park.

Members of the academia, artists and politicians are invited to participate in the Academy's festivities, which will start at 8:00AM.
