President Nicolae Timofti today handed to the renowned author and comedian Gheorghe Urschi the insignia that comes with the honorary tile of the People's Artist, a title bestowed on him in July in recognition of his valuable contribution to comedy and satire and to the promotion of spiritual and moral values, Info-Prim Neo reports. Nicolae Timofti told Gheorghe Urschi at the insignia handing ceremony that he has long ago been informally recognized as genuine artist of the people. “Let me assure you that we all love you and treasure for your work”, stated the President. The President bid Gheorghe Urschi, who was accompanied at the ceremony by his daughters Laura and Liliana, a fast recovery from a stroke that he suffered one year and a half ago. Although the stroke took his ability to speak, a few funny gestures in his unique style that made everybody in the audience laugh showed that he hasn't lost his sense of humor.
