President Sandu promulgates law to provide by 1,000 lei a month to children under two

President Maia Sandu promulgated the amendments to the law by which a monthly allowance of 1,000 lei for looking after children up to their age of two was introduced, IPN reports.

This way, as from October 1, the state will provide a monthly allowance of 1,000 to all the children under two, either their parents are socially insured or not. In the case of socially insured parents, the new allowance of 1,000 lei will be paid in addition to the child benefit that is now paid according to one of the three payment variants.

Over 63,000 persons will benefit from the allowance. “We want all the children in Moldova to grow up in safety and affection and to enjoy the conditions needed for developing,” said President Sandu.

The law is part of the “Family” Program that was recently launched by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in a move to support the children and families with children in Moldova.
