President Nicolae Timofti transmitted a message on the occasion of World and National Science Day that is marked on November 10. He says the results achieved by the Moldovans scientists show that deeply involved and dedicated people work in the research and innovation sector of Moldova and their work contributes significantly to ensuring connection between science and the daily life of people, IPN reports.

“On November 10, the whole scientific community of Moldova makes common cause with UNESCO and celebrates World Day for Peace and Development, which was instituted in 2001. The promotion of science without borders is a good occasion for realizing the role of scientific research in ensuring societal progress, for consolidating our intellectual capacities for achieving our aspirations and for recognizing the values and excellence of the European and world research communities,” says the President’s message.

Nicolae Timofti is convinced that only a society based on knowledge and truth has a sustainable future. He expressed his respect and appreciation for the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, which, according to him, plays a very important role in safeguarding the language and national identity, in promoting scientific and innovational excellence and the intellectuals, people of science, young researchers. Nicolae Timofti wished them work force and consistency so as to achieve new results in science.
