President promulgates four laws of package passed on May 3

President Nicolae Timofti on May 9 promulgated four laws of those adopted by Parliament on May 3, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.

Now that these laws were promulgated, the National Anticorruption Center will be managed by the Government, not Parliament as earlier, while the election threshold for entering Parliament is higher. The powers of the outgoing Cabinet and the interim Prime Minister were extended. The head of state sent only the bill that enables lawmakers to dismiss the Constitutional Court judges to Parliament back for reexamination.

The leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu earlier called on the President not to promulgate the laws passed on May 3, saying that if he promulgates them they will not be able to take part in the negotiations on the designation of a candidate for Prime Minister.
