President pardons two prisoners whose families suffered from floods

Vladimir Voronin has inked a decree pardoning two prisoners whose families were stricken by the last summer floods, Info-Prim Neo reports. “A justifying argument to apply the amnesty as to those two people is the fact that their families suffered from the floods and their houses were ruined, and the harvest – destroyed,” reads a communique issued by the presidential press service. The amnesty touched on an inhabitant of Criva village, Briceni district, sentenced for burglary, and on an inhabitant of Varatic village, Rascani district, sentenced for “embezzlement in large proportion”.
