The President of Romania Klaus Iohannis will make an official visit to the Republic of Moldova until the end of this year, President-elect Maia Sandu announced after meeting with Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ioniță, IPN reports.
“I underlined the necessity of restoring the normal bilateral cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and of intensifying the Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in a number of areas for the citizens to feel the benefits as swiftly as possible,” stated Maia Sandu.
She noted the visit by the President of Romania is important for the Republic of Moldova. “We hope it will represent a first step towards long-lasting and productive cooperation between our countries.”
The last time President Klaus Iohannis paid an official visit to the Republic of Moldova in February 2015, when Nicolae Timofti held office of President of the Republic of Moldova.
