The President of Romania Klaus Iohannis on January 14 signed the decree to promulgate the law on the doubling of child benefit, IPN reports, with reference to agerpres.ro.
The law provides that the state child benefit will be 600 Romanian lei for children under two and for disabled children under three. A state allowance to the same amount will be paid to disabled children aged between three and 18.
The children aged between two and 18 and the young people who turned 18, but are involved in lyceum or vocational education, until they finish their studies, will get 300 Romanian lei a month.
The law comes into force in a month of its publication in Part 1 of the Official Gazette of Romania.
The given allowances are also intended for the children of Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova. According to the National Bank of Moldova, a Romanian leu on January 14 is worth 4.04 Moldovan lei.
