President of Moldova Igor Dodon signed the decree to name Dumitru Robu as acting prosecutor general at the Parliament’s proposal, IPN reports.
After a meeting with Dumitru Robu, Igor Dodon wrote on Facebook he is hopeful that the acting prosecutor general will make sure that all those who stole public funds will be held accountable and will contribute to the proper implementation of the prosecution service reform.
He expressed his confidence that the acting prosecutor general will strictly respect the country’s laws and the Constitution and will restore the institution’s good image, ensuring the investigation of the offenses committed by the previous government. ”I noted that society is waiting for veritable investigations into the bank fraud, usurpation of state power this June, criminal scheme created in different areas of the national economy, etc.” wrote Igor Dodon.
Dumitru Robu was proposed as a candidate after he secured the support of 78 MPs.
