President Igor Dodon is paying a visit to Teheran to take part in the inauguration of President-elect of Iran Hassan Rouhani. He will have a series of meetings with high-ranking officials from a number of states and a bilateral meeting with his Iranian counterpart.

“Moldova, being a small country, should develop relations of friendship with all the states so as to ensure the proper functioning of its economy and the welfare of its people. I’m sure that the development of relations of cooperation in areas of common interest with Iran will bring us only benefits,” Igor Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.

Before the visit to Teheran, President Dodon rested for several days on Mount Athos in Greece.
