President Igor Dodon sent a message of condolence to his Turkish counteract Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in connection with the Ankara train accident that killed nine and injured about 50, IPN reports.
“We learned with sadness about the tragic train accident in Ankara that claimed human lives and injured dozens. In these moments of grain pain, in the name of the people of the Republic of Moldova and in my personal name, I express our profound feelings of compassion and solidarity with the Turkish people,” reads the message.
A high-speed train with about 200 passengers on board collided head-on with a maintenance vehicle in Ankara’s Marsandiz station, causing part of a bridge to collapse onto two carriages. According to preliminary reports, at least nine persons died and about 50 were wounded.
