President Igor Dodon calls upon the people of Moldova to take part in a peaceful march in support of the new parliamentary majority and the new Government that will be staged in front of the Parliament Building on June 16, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Igor Dodon said a new stage in the modern history of the Republic of Moldova started on June 8, when the country’s legitimate administration was chosen. In this connection, he noted that the new government enjoys maximum support both at domestic and at foreign levels.
President Dodon called on those who work for state institutions - doctors, teachers and service members - to go out with statements in support of the legitimate government. He urged the people to take part in the planned event in a peaceful way. “The larger is the number of participants, the faster will we see the peaceful transit of power,” he stated.
Answering journalists’ questions, Igor Dodon said the police are obliged to maintain public order at all the events.
The people’s march was set to start at 11am.
