President Dodon has adviser for interethnic relations

Doctor of Law Sergey Mișin, a member of the Civic Society Council under the President, was named presidential adviser for interethnic relations. A decree to this effect was signed by President Igor Dodon, IPN reports, with reference to the presidential press service.

“Earlier, I promised to appoint an adviser in charge of the given area in response to multiple appeals made by ethnic and cultural organizations of Moldova. One third of Moldova’s population consists of representatives of other ethnic groups than the Moldovan one and maintaining permanent contact between the Administration and these organizations and keeping peace and good understanding in society are among the main tasks of the Head of State,” said Igor Dodon.

According to President Dodon, in Moldova’s history there was no presidential adviser for interethnic relations. But a Civic Society Council under the President has worked since 2017 and there is a commission for interethnic relations led by Elena Beleakova.
