Protests will be mounted on September 24 this year, when a consultative referendum initiated by President Igor Dodon was to be held. The announcement was made by the President in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon said the people will demonstrate in support of the four subjects that were to be put up for the referendum. He noted it’s no use protesting around the Government Building now. “The people will come to Chisinau at the appeal of the President and this will represent the convening of the Great National Assembly, which should adopt concrete decisions. Later these decisions will become presidential decrees, but not on September 24,” stated the President.
According to him, the Great National Assembly could be convened if the Democratic Party seriously prepares to destabilize the situation in the country or if different initiatives to dismiss the President are put forward.
