Moldova's President-in-office has asked the law-enforcement organs to start the total amnesty and all forms of inquest of participants in the April 7 protests in Chisinau. Vladimir Voronin made the statement in his TV speech on April 15, on Moldova 1, the station paid from the tax-payers' money, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I'm bound to do my best so that the outburst of desperate violence of April 7 should never happen again, so that the Moldovan people could say about itself that it can find solutions alone, placing itself among the civilized nations of Europe,” the President said. Vladimir Voronin showed concern that hundreds of youths have “to be in custody, to pay with their freedom for the mistakes which are on other people's conscience.” But Voronin said “the representatives of the underworld and the recidivists, who profited from the intricate political situation, will stay in jail.”
