President about deportations: It is a black page in our history

President Igor Dodon condemns the deportation waves, but considers that these sad days should not be transformed into political shows and attempts to further divide society. Statements on the issue were made in a news conference, IPN reports.

The President condemns the crimes committed in the Soviet period. According to him, there were good things and also bad things and these represent a black page in the history of the Republic of Moldova.

More than 22,000 Moldovans were deported on the night of June 13, 1941. Dozens of people came to the Monument “Train of Sorrow” in the Square of the Railway Terminal in Chisinau to lay flowers there. The commemoration event involved Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Cabinet members. Members of the Liberal Party laid flowers separately.
