Presents from Santa Claus for children from socially disadvantaged families

Forty-six invalid children and children from socially deprived families from the municipality of Chisinau received gifts from Santa Claus during the campaign “Become Santa Claus for Disadvantaged Children” that was launched by the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty Moldova (“Arguments and Facts Moldova”). The campaign started on December 10 and closed on December 29 with a ceremony where the children were entertained by Santa Claus, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We wanted to bring joy to the children and faith in the spirit of Christmas, especially in Santa Claus. For many of these children, Santa Claus represents the person who fulfils their wishes without conditions,” said Olga Siloci, of Argumenty i Fakty Moldova. Early in December, children’s letters to Santa Claus were put on the Wishes’ Fir Tree that was set up in a municipal shopping center, accompanied by children’s pictures. Anyone from the municipality could contribute to the fulfillment of their wishes. The children asked clothes, footwear and toys as well as health and happiness from Santa Claus. Olga Siloci said the campaign was very popular as there were collected many presents from ordinary people and companies. In Moldova, this campaign was organized for the first time.
