Preparations for Low Sunday in progress
The cleaning works in the Chisinau cemetery are underway. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Vadim Cojusneanu, director of the Chisinau-based Funeral Services Company, said that the Central Cemetery located on Armeneasca Street and Saint Lazar Cemetery have been 85% cleaned, Info-Prim Neo reports.
There were placed new garbage bins and installed about 100 benches. The works will be completed on Friday and Saturday, when access to the cemeteries for motor vehicles will be banned.
As in the previous years, the departed will be remembered in special prayers on Low Sunday – both on Sunday and Monday.
The section of Doina Street between Socoleni Street and the main entrance to Saint Lazar Cemetery will be closed for traffic, except public transport. Parking lots will be set up near the cemetery, including on the sidewalk, said Veaceslav Tarna, the head of the Public Transport and Communication Ways Division.
Two-three ambulances will stand on the territory of Saint Lazar Cemetery, while a team of doctors will work at the Central Cemetery, said Mihai Moldovanu, the head of the Health Division.
