The Commission on coordination of pre-electoral actions of the public administration authorities of Chisinau met in its first sitting on Friday, April 20. The commission was created under the interim mayor’s order on April 18. The Commission’s head, Secretary of the Municipal Council, Nicolae Manastarli requested from the district mayors, who are responsible for the organisation of the elections, to begin monitoring the panels for electoral posters and offices for the meetings of the electoral competitors. The public local administration is obliged to provide the candidates with panels for electoral posters and offices for meetings with voters three days after they were registered by the District Election Council. At the same time, the condition of offices where the polling stations and election offices will be placed will be verified, as well as their supply with the necessary materials. Updating, completing and verifying the electoral roll are the objectives set by the commission. Mayor of Botanica District Vladimir Guritenco sought that the lists should be presented at the polling stations within the deadline provided by the law, 20 days before the date of the polls. On his part, head of the Commission Nicolae Manastarli requested to double the actions on verifying the lists and on inviting the voters to participate in elections. Head of the Municipal Police Iacob Gumenita assured that the police bodies will cooperate with the district offices and town halls in suburbs. About MDL 340 thousand were allotted from the reserve Fund of the City Hall in order to organise the elections in the municipality of Chisinau. The general local elections will be held on June 3.
