Premiership top trio consolidate their lead
The top three clubs in the National Division – Dacia, Iskra-Stal and Sheriff – have increased their lead with victories scored in round 16 of the premiership, Info-Prim Neo reports.
[Dacia Chisinau] defeated Nistru, [0-6], at Otaci, marking their most brilliant victory in the top league. Five goals were scored already in the first half. Scorers were Ghenadie Orbu (penalty kick), Victor Bulat, Alexandru Onica, Anatolie Boestean, Nicolai Orlovschi (own goal) and Oleksandr Zgura.
[Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa] had no problems defeating their hosts CSCA-Rapid, [0-2], courtesy to Nicolae Rudac and Vladimir Taranu who scored in the early second half.
After their surprising victory in Europa League, [Sheriff Tiraspol] had some scares in the match against Olimpia Balti, which they eventually defeated [2-0]. The Tiraspol-based club earned their three points late in the game, courtesy to Benjamin Balima's header and then Alexandru Suvorov's impeccable free kick.
In other encounters of round 16, Zimbru Chisinau defeated Academia UTM, [4-1]; Dinamo Bender lost to Sf. Gheorghe Suruceni, [2-0]; and Viitorul Orhei won against FC Tiraspol, [1-0].
