Premier worried about accumulation of new debts to budget
Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev is concerned about the accumulation of new debts to the budget following the fiscal amnesty and demands that the relevant ministries take radical measures to ensure that the budgets are fulfilled, Info-Prim Neo reports
“With the fiscal amnesty applied, the accumulation of new current debts is unacceptable. There will be no other amnesty in the next 15 or 20 years. We have amnestied more than 4 billion lei, offered the businesses the possibility of starting from a blank sheet and work honestly, minimised the fiscal burden and now we have to ensure discipline,” the Premier said at the last meeting of the Government.
According to Tarlev, the fulfilment of the obligations towards the social insurance budget and the payment of salaries are the primary tasks.
Tarlev instructed the Ministry of Economy and Trade to work in concert with the Labour Inspectorate, trade unions and employers and take drastic measures against the economic agents that do not honour their obligations towards salary earners. “They complain that their employees go abroad and they do not have workforce, but this happens because they do not pay the very modest salaries in time,” Tarlev said.
At the same time, the Premier demanded that the names of the economic entities that do not fulfil their obligations to the social insurance fund be made known.
According to non-official data, the State Main Fiscal Inspectorate reported debts of over 400 million lei accumulated into all the types of budgets this year.
