Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said that he wants constructive actions on the part of Communist opposition and proposals for overcoming the situation in the country. “The opposition in a democratic society plays a well-defined role. On the one hand, it monitors the government’s actions. On the other hand, it criticizes the administration, but should also propose alternative solutions,” Iurie Leanca said in the program “Fabrica” on Publika TV channel, quoted by IPN.
The opposition must show that it has definite proposals, said the head of Government. “Unfortunately, the Communist opposition of Moldova is different. I’ve got the impression that they haven’t learned what being in the opposition means. They have no alternative proposals. I didn’t hear suggestions how to fight corruption and how to eradicate poverty from them,” said the politician.
Iurie Leanca said he would like the opposition to assert itself in a different way. ”I repeatedly invited them to dialogue, but they have a different attitude. I don’t know what they will do in continuation and if they will resort to other methods,” he stated.
The Premier also said that the country needs a quick development pace as a lot was lost until 2009. As to the country’s economic development, Iurie Leanca said that Moldova needs small, medium and large investors and the state should create conditions for them to be able to invest. Most of the small and medium investors are from the EU and the Moldovan authorities should make effort to attract them.
Over the last two weeks, the Leanca Government went through two censure motions put forward by the Communist opposition. The parties of the government coalition that formed the Government headed by Iurie Leanca will mount a large-scale pro-European demonstration on November 3. The Communists started to stage anti-government protests in September.
