Premier Vlad Filat and Baroness Emma Nicholson discuss human rights, trafficking in persons
Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Baroness Emma Nicholson, who is a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, conferred on issues concerning human rights and trafficking in human beings at a meeting on December 12, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Moldovan Government’s press service.
The discussion centered on the present situation in Moldova and the measures that must be taken to come closer to the European standards.
“You can count on support (...) in combating human trafficking, especially in children and women,” Emma Nicholson said.
The Baroness stressed the necessity of restoring the Children’s High Level Group in Moldova, which she co-chaired, and of launching programs aimed at supporting the children in difficulty.
“We are grateful to you for your involvement and wish to help Moldova,” said Vlad Filat.
Baroness Emma Nicholson is known for her philanthropic work. She is the patron of, or supports, over 50 charitable organizations.
