Premier seeks more active involvement in fight against child abuse

Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed the competent institutions to further become involved in the fight of any form of abuse against children in schools and kindergartens. He returned to this issue in the June 8 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.

“The problem cannot be solved by dismissing only one employee,” stated Pavel Filip. According to him, a much more complex and profound approach is needed. “I do not want to find out about such cases from the mass media. These should be prevented based on a well-thought-out plan of measures and intervention,” added the Premier.

The National Council for the Protection of Children’s Rights will consider and approve relevant measures after July 5, when the results of the national assessment of child treatment in early education institutions are made public.
